This week we take a look at a sample essay that is typical of HK’s DSE students’ standard.
This sample was written by a HK DSE Form 6 student who is targeting a 6.5. Can you do ‘mo betta’?:

Introduction incoherent. Numerous broken sentences. Conjugation and spelling issues. Cacography acceptable notwithstanding the heterography which is most certainly not. Abject absence of linkers and sign posting, ad hoc du jour in lieu a la ordo ab chaos, evidence of inability to delay gratification, as can be expected of myopic ‘deadline fighter’ love children. A prototypical, ode to Hong Kong, performance. Make that eulogy.
