This week we take a look at yet again, the most persistent HK-Chinglish errors that nearly all of the HK students are making in the IELTS exam. Although there are many mistakes in the following essay, all of which have been corrected, this analysis will focus on the most critical errors, or headshots, that even one of which will derail a 7.0 attempt.
This sample was written by a HK working professional attempting to get an all 7.0, just like everybody else, and just like everybody else, consistently still getting a 6.0. Can you spot the mistakes:

☑️ 6. range; a range of complex sentence structures
☑️ 7. linkers

☑️ 9. “and” does not qualify as range for anything higher than 6.0
☑️ 10. over use of “on” as HK-Chinglish’s favorite no. 1 preposition, which is NOT a master key.
